The Ga. Tech Black Leadership Conference (BLC) is a three day event that promotes leadership and diversity through over 12 interactive workshops and open forums, 4 dynamic speakers, and fellowship between a group of people with a desire to be true leaders. Many attendees credit their conference experience with inspiring them to reach their individual goals and create a positive impact on their community.

This year's theme: "Take Back Your Existence

The theme “Take Back Your Existence” comes from a Big Rube quote in the interlude “True Dat” on the Outkast album “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik”. People are often defined by society’s views of who they are and this often influences who they will become. A major goal of this conference is to help people understand who they are independent of others views and empower attendees to choose who they will become and how they will impact their community.

Ga. Tech African American Student Union

The Ga. Tech African American Student Union has hosted the BLC for the past five years. The conference was started in 2004 by Stephanie Bent and Temitope Aiyejorun. If you are interested in learning more about AASU please visit the AASU website.
