The Georgia Tech Ambassadors strive to promote the Institute through a core of professionally dedicated students that act as official hosts and hostesses for the school. Through a direct partnership with the Alumni Association, the Ambassadors assist the Office of the President, the Office of Development and colleges and schools within the Institute to welcome alumni, prospective legacy students, and guests of Georgia Tech.

Events & Activities

Dean Griffin Day

Dean Griffin Day is an annual spring event organized by Ambassadors to honor the faculty and staff of Georgia Tech. Students are encouraged to write letters of appreciation to faculty and staff members that are delivered on Dean Griffin Day. Faculty and staff are honored with student nominated awards and recognized at Up With The White And Gold.

Dean George C. Griffin, a cherished member of the Tech community, was not only a student, but also a coach, mathematics professor, Dean and Alumni Club organizer during his years on campus. George C. Griffin came to Georgia Tech as a student in 1914 and stayed until his retirement as Dean of Students in 1964. In those fifty years, he left a lasting impression on the Georgia Tech community.

President's Dinner

Presidents' Dinner is an annual event hosted by the President of the Institute, the Georgia Tech Foundation, and the Alumni Association as a way of thanking alumni and friends who have contributed $1,000 or more to the annual Roll Call Drive. Ambassadors act as student hosts of the Alumni Association for this black tie event, providing guests with the opportunity to interact with current Tech students.

Legacy, Alumni and Institute Guest Tours

Ambassadors serve as campus hosts for prospective legacy students, alumni and special guests of the Institute. Ambassador guided tours offer a chance for potential students to see Georgia Tech from a student's perspective. This individualized tour of the campus and academic facilities gives visitors the opportunity to have any questions answered regarding student life at Georgia Tech and the surrounding community.

Alumni Club Meetings

The Georgia Tech Alumni Association supports a wide variety of clubs and organizations. With 70 Georgia Tech Alumni Clubs located throughout the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico, the Alumni Association provides numerous opportunities and programs to help maintain close ties with the Institute. Ambassadors are often asked to act as hosts at various club meetings throughout the year.

Home Football Game Activities

Tailgate parties are hosted by the Alumni Association before each home football game. Attending Ambassadors act as students hosts of the Alumni Association and interact with visiting alumni. Ambassadors also assist in the President's Box during each home football game.

Campus Tours

The Ambassadors provide personalized campus tours to alumni, legacy students, and guests of Georgia Tech. Tours can be requested by e-mailing a Tour Request Form to campustours@gtalumni.org.
