What is AMSA?

American Medical Student Association (AMSA): AMSA is a student governed organization committed to the concerns of students who hope to become physicians. AMSA has a national membership of over 28,000, composed of premedical and medical students, interns, and medical residents. Premedical membership is open to any student who is preparing to attend medical school. The Georgia Tech chapter of AMSA has meetings every two to three weeks throughout the school year. Guest speakers include campus premedical advisors, medical school admissions officers from various medical school, representatives of MCAT preparation firms, and military scholarship recruiters. AMSA will also hold events pertaining to other health fields in order to expose our members to more post-graduate options.

How can I join?

If you'd like to join AMSA, please contact an officer (click the Exec. Board link at the top). You will be asked to pay annual dues as well as national dues. Please note that for this year, all members are required to be national AMSA members. You will not be able to put "AMSA" on your medical school application if you are not a national member.
