Astronomy Club General Meeting
- First meeting of the semester
- Free pizza and drinks in this meeting
- Next meetings: 9/8 and 9/15. Fortnightly after 9/15. Reason: To avoid clash with Dr Sowell’s class observation sessions.
- Meeting begins at 8.10pm
- History of the Astronomy Club
- Introduction of officers
- What does the club actually do?
- Camping trip at Deerlick Astronomy Village
- Solar observations at skiles walkway
- Visit observatory at the top of the Physics building after every meeting to use the 16-inch telescope
- Astronomy quiz bowl at the end of the semester
- Help educate kids on astronomy related topics during Boy Scout merit badge clinic

- Deerlick astronomy village party will be held between 9/28 and 10/4 this year.
- We will try to get a group discount for the club to attend the star party.
- Next Wednesday 9/3 – open scope night at 9pm at yellow jackets park.
- Club Members are required to pay $15 either tonight or during the next meeting.
