To become a member, you must be a Georgia Tech student, faculty
member, staff, alumni, or spouse. Players at all levels are welcome. The membership fee is $10 per semester. Members may enjoy the following benefits:
- The club holds weekly practice sessions, during which the courts are reserved. Members have the priority to use the reserved courts. Four or five courts will be secured exclusively for members' use, subject to the number of our members. Please be courteous and take turns if the courts are overwhelmed by the number of players.
- Members are given a tube of Yonex Mavis 350 yellow shuttles. One tube contains 6 shuttles and costs from $8 to $13 if bought online (shipping not included).
- Short training courses will be provided for new players. There will be coaching session by experienced players during our normal practice times.
- We recommend the members to play competitive tournaments, such as Georgia games, Georgia open. We will reimburse the travel costs and registration fees.
Membership Fees
The membership fee for the year 2008-2009 is $10. If you have already paid in Summer 2008, you don't have to pay again. Please pay the membership fee to the current club president - Fei Qian. You can catch him during the practice sessions.
Not affiliated with Georgia Tech?
Georgia Tech's policies are such that only individuals affiliated with Georgia Tech can become members of sports clubs. You can still play badminton as long as you have access to CRC through a guest pass purchased by a CRC member. View CRC's membership and guest policies here. There are other places in the Atlanta area where people play badminton. Some of them are listed on this Badminton Central thread. |
