2009 Georgia Tech Cycling
About the Team:
The Georgia Tech Cycling Team competes in collegiate bicycle racing in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) We compete in both road and mountain bike events and there are usually around 8 races per season in each discipline. The races are held by schools in the conference and take place throughout the Southeast in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Collegiate racing is divided into A, B, and C class, which correspond to Expert, Sport and Beginner for mountain, and Cat 1-2, 3, and 4-5 for road.
In the 2001-2002 season, the GT cycling team placed 1st overall out of 14 colleges in the mountain biking division of the SECCC and 3rd in the Road division.
Georgia Tech Cycling has regular training rides on the road throughout the week and often head to nearby mountain bike trails on the weekends.
