better way is there to start riding then to sign up for a lesson
today?
The
Georgia Tech Equestrian Club & Team rides out of the Step-n-Free
barn in Peachtree City, which is approximately 30 minutes south
of Georgia Tech. As a Tech student, you're probably wondering, when
will I have time to take lessons? Well, lesson scheduling is
quite flexible and lessons can usually be scheduled 7 days a week,
morning, afternoon, or evening.

All
GT Equestrian lesson scheduling is done through our online calendar,
which lists all club happenings, in addition to lesson times. You
can schedule lessons on a week-by-week basis, or you can schedule
an entire month at once. The team captains are notified immediately
once a lesson is scheduled online, so please be check over the lesson
information before clicking 'Submit'. Should you need to cancel
a lesson, you must notify a team captain or officer AT LEAST
24 HOURS prior to your lesson time.
The
following lesson types available (English and Western):
- 30
minute private
- $45
- 1
hour private
- $65/hour
- 1
hour semi-private (you and 1 other person)
- $45/hour/person
- 1
hour group (you and 2 or more people)
- $35/hour/person
Please
do not let the cost of lessons deter you from riding!!! If the lesson
costs are a problem for you, please speak with one of the officers
so that we can try to make arrangements for you :) Also, adhering
to the club/team membership requirements
will allow you to receive partial lesson reimbursements, so make
sure you keep up with those guidelines!

GT
Equestrian is very lucky to have Bill Russell (a.k.a. Mr. Bill)
as
it's instructor and coach. Mr. Bill provides a very relaxed lesson
environment, but you will definitely learn a lot, and he will take
whatever time is necessary, even if that means going over your allotted
lesson time, to make you the best rider possible!

The
Step-n-Free barn is located in Peachtree City and is actually
quite easy to get to from Tech. Follow the directions below to get
there from Tech or click HERE
for printer friendly directions...
- Get
onto 85 (NOT 75) south, and stay on there for a little while,
going past the airport.
- Get
off at exit 61, the FAIRBURN/PEACHTREE CITY Exit.
- At
the light off the exit, turn LEFT onto Hwy 74 (south).
- Go
down for about 3 miles and turn LEFT onto SANDY CREEK ROAD.
(If you happen to go over Railroad tracks while on 74, then
you've gone too far).
- Once
you're on SANDY CREEK RD, go down for about 1.9 miles (you will
pass over RR tracks while on this road) and turn RIGHT onto
ADAMS ROAD.
- The
house is the third on the right (right next to a big house with
an iron fence around it). The address is 710 ADAMS ROAD, but
the mailbox with the address is actually on the left side of
the street, directly across from the house.
