The ECE / Eta Kappa Nu Scholarship is a $1000 source of financial
assistance for deserving undergraduate Electrical and Computer Engineering
Junior students (by credit hours) at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Eta Kappa Nu and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering established
this scholarship in 1998. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial
need and academic merit. The first scholarship was awarded during the Fall
Quarter of 1998. The scholarship is awarded each Spring and Fall. The deadline
for application is always the Friday before either Spring or Fall Break.
Selection Criteria
A Scholarship Selection Committee consisting of the Associate Chair for
Undergraduate Affairs, the Eta Kappa Nu faculty advisor, the Eta Kappa Nu
President, and the Eta Kappa Nu Vice President determine the recipient of the
Scholarship using the following criteria:
- Financial Need
- Grade Point Average (Minimum GPA of 3.0) / Academic Record
- Completion of at least 10 hours in ECE courses at Georgia Tech
- Leadership on campus as well as in the community
- Extracurricular Activity / Community Service Involvement
- Interest, achievement, and aspiration in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Scholarship Funding
The ECE / Eta Kappa Nu Scholarship is directly supported by the Beta Mu
Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu, by means of lab supplies sales, as well as through the
generous support of private contributors, and corporate sponsors. Eta Kappa Nu
is leading the effort to attract the resources needed to support this scholarship
program. The scholarship fund resides within the Georgia Tech Foundation,
enabling companies, institutions, alumni, and friends to make tax-deductible
donations to the ECE / Eta Kappa Nu Scholarship.
