Georgia Tech Ice Hockey players and coaches sincerely appreciate the support they receive from sponsors and fans. To show our thanks, the team strives to give back to the local community.
The 1998-99 season introduced Georgia Tech Ice Hockey Youth Clinics. Designed for developing players age 8-15, these free hockey clinics offer two hours of instruction by Georgia Tech Ice Hockey coaches and players.
All three clinics held this past year were completely filled, with over 45 young hockey players seizing the opportunity to improve their skating, passing and shooting skills at each session. We hope to see many of these young players in a Georgia Tech uniform one day!
In addition to youth clinics, the team is also active off the ice. Since the 1995-96' season, Georgia Tech players have participated in Habitat for Humanity. On free weekends during the season, players visit local neighborhoods to help build new houses.
This season the team will begin participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, which is held each spring to raise funds for cancer research.
The Atlanta region in particular, and Georgia in general, have helped Georgia Tech Ice Hockey succeed since 1973. In return, the team tries to do its part in helping the community succeed as well.
