New rules slow pace of the game
September 17, 2006

Coach Stathis was happy with the win but very disappointed in the way the new rules slowed down the game and took away any flow or momentum normally seen at a hockey game.

Coach Stathis was pleased with the training camp and all the hard work the boys put in to the camp. Several on ice sessions and classroom sessions were well received by the players.

Coach Stathis felt this year’s camp was even better than last year. “Eight power play goals in one game is more than what we had the entire 2nd half of last season” said a pleased coach Stathis after the game.

“I was also pleased with our new players and Mike Zaucha never changes, he simply dominates whenever he is on the ice. We are thrilled to have him back at Tech for his master’s program which is a huge boost for our team. Alabama played well and never gave up and are well coached; they are going to improve and have a good nucleus of players as they grow and expand their program, said Stathis. They played with class and we look forward to hosting them in January.”

The win was Stathis’ 225th victory at Georgia Tech.
