Alumni Weekend Success
25 Enjoyed Weekend Events
October 21, 2007

The 2007 Alumni weekend was a great success.

The group included a wide range of ages and attracted alums from around the country. Stu Hyatt, who traveled from Washington state and played on an informal GT hockey team in the late 50's, was out on the ice and sharing stories after the game.

Friday night's game was a nice time for the alums to catch up and relive the glory days. Saturday, the tailgating event was more of the same and was a big success.

Sunday morning most of the group got out on the ice and had a great time. The black team took it to the white team, but after instituting the 7 point goal late in the third period, a 4-3 shootout was the final determining factor in the favor of black. The Dawe brothers led black and accounted for 10 goals between them. Mike Zaucha also netted a goal and got helpers from Jim Doeden, Jamie Ledyard, and John Patton. The white team appeared to be a little out matched but it was clear that Matt Sweeney and Nathan Kirby had maintained their skills. They each had several points for the white team. In net it was a battle between Chris Channer and Roland Sperlich.

There are a few photos from the weekend available here.
