The Georgia tech Yellow Jackets made a strong statement in their 5-4 Shoot Out loss to South Carolina in the opening game of a weekend series. They fought from behind the entire game, but never gave up. Played some of their best hockey in the last two periods and seemed to be energized with the numerous fan support and pep band cheering them on. Down 1-0 after the first period, the Jackets opened with a back handed goal by Dan Sweeney within the first minute of play of period two to tie the game at 1-1. South Carolina came back with two quick goals within 15 seconds of each other just 4 minutes later. They took a 3-1 lead.
