The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets improved their 2nd half season record to 7-2 (17-6 overall) with two victories this past weekend against South Carolina and Alabama.

These two games were the final home games of the season and fifth year grad student Mike Zaucha was honored.

Tech will play one more road game on Fri 2/23 before traveling to Fort Wayne In for the ACHA Division Nationals.

The Jackets scored a 6-3 win over South Carolina on Friday night in a contest that saw more special teams than even strength play due to penalties on both sides.

Tech scored three power play goals and had numerous opportunities to score more. South Carolina was in the game trailing Tech by just one goal with 12 minutes left in the third period, but the Jackets scored two quick goals within 2 minutes of each other to solidify the win.

The Yellow Jackets out shot South Carolina 46-24 and dominated the game, but could not put the Gamecocks away until the third period.

Tech had goals by (assist in parentheses) : Nick Amore (Drew Baker); Andy DeChirico (A.J. Piplica and Jeremy Spafard); Dan Sweeney (Tom Porter and Mike Zaucha); Josh Krisinger (B.J. Stapleton and Arnie Krogh); Tom Porter (Sweeney and Zaucha); Dan Sweeney (2nd) (Zaucha and Porter).

Craig Tabita was in goal for Georgia Tech and made 21 saves.
