Dear Georgia Tech Hockey Alum,

We would like to start this letter off by updating everyone on how the GTHAC (Georgia Tech Hockey Alumni Club) is coming along, the plans for the upcoming season, and thanking the alumni who have logged onto the website and provided their information and feedback on the formation of the club. We would also like to encourage anyone who has not done so to log on to the website (www.gthockey.com) go to the alumni section and fill out the quick survey.

Since the initial Alumni letter was sent out two years ago, we have been collecting information from the surveys in an effort to reach the official Georgia Tech Alumni Association requirement of 50 people. We are happy to say that we are almost there and would like to encourage anyone who is not a member of the Georgia Tech RollCall to sign up. It only takes a small donation and will assist us in becoming a recognized alumni group.

This season we have begun working on the plans for the 2007 Alumni game/weekend. This will take place on homecoming weekend, which is the weekend of October 20, 2007. The weekend will start on Friday (10/19) night with the current Yellow Jacket team taking on Loyola University at 9:30 pm at The Cooler in Alpharetta. Alumni are encouraged to attend, there will be a food and beverage area set aside for alumni to gather and tell all the "back when I was playing" stories. Saturday (10/20) the football team takes on Army, the game time won’t be announced until a week or two before the game but there will be a tailgate set up at a set location about 2 hours before game time for all hockey alumni and family to attend. We will have food, beverages, games, and would love to see as many people come out as possible. Sunday (10/21) morning the alumni game will be played at 10:30 am at The Cooler in Alpharetta. Click here for directions to The Cooler. After the game we’ll have some snacks and probably some ice packs to take care of all of those muscles that you forgot you ever used.

The entire weekend; Friday night’s game with food and beverage, Saturday’s football game tailgate with food and beverage, and Sunday’s alumni game with a jersey will only cost $100. It’s a great deal and half of the money will go to supporting the team. For those of you who can’t make it, but would like to contribute to the team, donations are always appreciated and welcomed.

I would also like to encourage everyone to keep up to date with the current team through the webpage. The 2007-2008 schedule will be up on the webpage very soon, and you can always find up to date information on what is going on with GT hockey.
