Wushu Collegiates 2009 Miscellaneous Information

Hotels

Schools looking for Hotels to stay at, please go to the www.jiayo.com collegiates competition forum. We have a group discount going for the Marriott right off campus and those interested can find more information in the post. Here's a map to the Marriott.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking available right across the street from the Campus Recreation Center in the student center parking lots. As per the Georgia Tech parking website,"This parking lot will also be open for free parking on weekends* from 11:00 PM Friday night through 5:00 AM Monday morning. *(except during home football games)." To enter these lots, please refer to this campus map. As you drive south on Ferst Drive away from the Recreation Center, there are lots on your first and second left after the stop light.

Weather (2/23)

Weather.com's 10 day forecast. No rain + Sunny skies = Party all day and night =)

Food Venues

To help people unfamiliar with the Atlanta area, the following are some suggested venues to eat at that we have eaten at frequently in our time at Georgia Tech. These suggestions are unbiased by sponsorship because these places didn't sponsor us at all. We just like them. Another thing about food, you may not have any food up on the 4th floor what-so-ever, but there is an eating area on the main floor.

Please use this custom map that shows the majority of the following restaurants.

Tin Drum - Directions
Tin Drum serves asian-american cuisine, ~$9 a meal. Takes a little while to get your food, but it's pretty good.
Willy's - Directions
Willy's serves mexican food, mainly burrito's. So much awesome you might get your socks rocked off. ~$7 a meal.
The Vortex - Directions
The Vortex is a bar and grill, serving mainly burgers. Try the coronary bypass. Also has many beers on tap. Mainly a dinner/after dinner place so plan on spending 1+ hours here. ~$10 a meal without drinks.
Noodle - Directions
Noodle serves asian style noodles. Try the lenny's soft noodles, pan-seared. ~$10 a meal.
5th St Ribs 'n Blue's - Directions
5th St Ribs n' Blues has the most amazing fall-off-the-bone juicy ribs ever. $10+ a meal, but you get your money's worth.
Jimmy John's - Directions
Jimmy John's Gourmet sandwiches are amazing. They have the best bread and they will finish making your sandwich almost before you finish paying them.
McDonald's - Directions
McDonald's is well, McDonalds. Get their sweet tea! It's a South thing. Chicken nuggets are amazing too with honey mustard.
Burger King - Directions
Literally right next to the McDonald's is a Burger King. Whopper's, etc.
