Policy of Copyrited Materials
- This is the general
information for copyrights and usage of graphics,
names, and identifying usage of others' work. Part
of this information is from External Affairs, part
from common sense.
-
Use of the Georgia Tech name shall be limited to
the official names as recognized by the Institute.
Preferred names are Georgia Tech or the Georgia
Institute of Technology. Use of "Tech"
and "Ga. Tech" is discouraged.
-
Authors or originators using trademarks must have
the express written permission of the person(s)
or organization(s) owing the trademarks prior to
their use.
-
Use of any Georgia Tech logo or trademark must
be pre-approved by External Affairs. If approval
is secured, the registered trademark symbol must
be used in conjunction with the logo or mark.
-
Authors or originators using photos and images
must obtain the express written permission of not
only the person or organization that owns the photo
or image, but in the case of photos or images of
any person or persons included within such photo
or image. Photos taken by Communications normally
have model release forms on file. Check with Communications
before using.
-
Departments using other copyrighted material must
have the express written permission of the person
or organization that owns the copyright. The Office
of External Affairs reserves the right to require
proof of the written permission and to remove the
material if that proof cannot be produced.
