The User who is applying for or using an account must agree to and understand fully
the terms and conditions of an account. These terms and conditions apply to
customization accounts as well as organization accounts.
I. OIT Compliance
The User must agree to and understand fully the Georgia Institute of
Technology Office of Information Technology's
Network & Computer Usage Policies
, and the
World Wide Web Policies & Guidlines.
II. Laws and Locale
The entire Cyberbuzz network is located within Georgia, on the campus of the
Georgia Institute of Technology. The Terms of this Agreement are subject to
the laws of Georgia, and of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Infractions
of these Terms and Conditions are also subject to the laws of Georgia, and
of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
III. Mandatory Links and Information
Should the User be granted an account, the User shall not interfere with,
tamper with, or otherwise obstruct mandatory information and links
automatically put on all pages on the Cyberbuzz network.
IV. Advertising
Should the User be granted an account, the User shall not, in any way,
advertise for any product, service, website, company, individual, or
otherwise recieve payment or incentive for placing links or banners on a
page hosted by the Cyberbuzz network. The User must obey the Georgia
Institute of Technology Office of Information Technology's policies on
advertising.
V. Account Information
User information must be up-to-date. Cyberbuzz reserves the right to
attempt to contact the User at any time. In the event that the account
information is incorrect, Cyberbuzz reserves the right to delete the
account, and forbid the User from further registration on the Cyberbuzz
network.
VI. Inactivity
Cyberbuzz reserves the right to delete ANY Cyberbuzz accounts that are inactive for five (5)
months. This will include all services that are offered and associated with
such accounts. This may be done without warning to the accountholder.
VII. Information Dispersal
The User is strictly forbidden from using his or her account for any
purpose other than for his or her organization or for his or her own
personal use. News, IRC clients, slirp, email clients, and any other
program or method of interacting directly with an End-User is not allowed.
Further, the User shall not put anything of illegal, questionable, or adult
nature on the Cyberbuzz network. Cyberbuzz reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to determine what is of an illegal, questionable, or adult
nature and may at its discretion remove such content.
VIII. Abuse
The User is strictly forbidden from sending unsolicited email (spamming),
attempting to deny or destroy the quality of service of any computer on the
Cyberbuzz network, or otherwise using his or her account inappropriately.
Cyberbuzz reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine what
appropriate usage of a User account is and immediately remove any account and
services associated with such usage.
IX. Dissemination of Secret Information
The user is strictly forbidden from distributing or otherwise notifying the
general public of any passcodes, passwords, login information, account
information, or any other information that Cyberbuzz deems to be
inappropriate to distribute. Cyberbuzz reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to determine what is appropriate information to distribute.
X. Privacy and Account Logging
Cyberbuzz reserves the right to monitor any or all account activity, and
record this activity. The information gained by Cyberbuzz via account
monitoring and logging may be used for any purpose that Cyberbuzz deems
fit, in its sole discretion.
XI. Changes to This Policy and Inclusiveness
These terms and conditions are not all-inclusive, and Cyberbuzz reserves the
right to change them without prior notice to the User. Situations not
covered by this policy will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Cyberbuzz
recommends reviewing the current policy frequently to ensure that the User
is in compliance. Use of Cyberbuzz services, including view CyberBuzz web pages
as a visitor, after the effective date of any
changes will be deemed acceptance of the new terms and conditions as of
such effective date, even if you previously notified us that you did not agree
to the changes.
XII. Copyright
Cyberbuzz, the Cyberbuzz Logo, CB, Power to the Students, and all text,
copy, graphics, media, and programs are Copyright 1997-2001 Cyberbuzz,
Georgia Institute of Technology. All rights reserved. Infraction of
copyright law, in the sole discretion of Cyberbuzz, may also constitute
non-compliance with the Terms of this Agreement.
XIII. Implied Consent
Use of the Cyberbuzz network or resources, and the creation of a Cyberbuzz
account implies that the User has fully read, understands, and agrees to
these Terms and Conditions.
XIV. Information on the Cyberbuzz Network
All information on any Cyberbuzz account or Cyberbuzz server is property of
Cyberbuzz, and subject to the all of the Terms of this Agreement. Cyberbuzz
may change any information contained on any Cyberbuzz account or on the
Cyberbuzz network without permission or prior notice to the User.
