Purpose

Our Purpose at Georgia Tech

First and foremost we desire to reach individuals on this campus and bring them to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We found this is best accomplished when we focus on the individual friendships and relationships we form in day to day life. Once an individual has become a new follower of Christ, our focus is to disciple them in the basics of the faith. When a new believer has developed a growing relationship with Christ, our desire is to equip them to share their faith with others and to go forth and make disciples, and back them with resources and prayer. We are guided by the principle of spiritual generations in 2 Timothy 2:2 "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." Faith in Christ passed generationally from Paul to Timothy to faithful men to others.

Our Ministry at Georgia Tech

As a ministry, we believe the most effective way to attain these goals is through relationships developed in our weekly large group gathering, small group Bible studies, one-on-one mentoring and discipleship, and community building activities.

Any questions you may have, please feel free to contact us at gtnavs@comcast.net.

Weekly Large Group

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
-- Hebrews 10:25

Weekly, we come together to reflect the love of God to each other during our NavNite. Mutually, we strive to encourage one another, impart vision, and challenge each other toward a personal and more intimate relationship with God.

This is our "Family Time" as a group, and we seek to help each other grow in 4 areas of Passion:

We worship together through music, testimonies, teaching from the Word, and seeking the Father in prayer. We would be delighted for you to come join us in worship at NavNite! Check the Calendar for the time and location.

Bible Studies

"Do your best to present yourselves to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth."
-- 2 Timothy 2:15

The Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit--our offensive weapon in the fight of faith. It's also where we encounter God as He reveals His character and His heart for individuals and the nations.

In those small groups we encourage each other to look deep into God's Word and to regularly commit that Word into memory (Ps. 119:9-11, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Josh. 1:8).

One-on-One

"We were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."
-- 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8

We believe in the value of ONE ... one life transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Discipleship is modeled by Moses, Paul, and Jesus, among others. Discipleship is simply one believer, a few steps ahead in the walk of faith, coming alongside another believer and journeying with him or her throughout all avenues of life. It's more that just a weekly time together, it's intentional life together, one-on-one and heart-to-heart. Through discipleship relationships, we grow in relationship with Jesus and learn tools to live a life following Him and equipping others to follow Him.

Community

"For where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them."
--Matthew 18:20

Since discipleship is best accomplished life-on-life, we value spending time together in service, development, outreach, and fun times.

Some ideas of how we hang together: serving the homeless in downtown Atlanta, attending conferences and retreats with other campuses, Evangelism Nights on campus, Spring Break Service Project Trip in 2008, Saturday Morning Leadership Training Summits, Rafting Trips, Tailgating and Football, Hiking, Dance Parties, Dinner out on the town, ice cream, concerts, random road trips, and on and on and on...
