Andrea Ashmore is Special Assistant to the President and Director of Institute Partnerships for Georgia Institute of Technology Andrea directs the community outreach policies and procedures of the university and enhances the Institute’s relationships with private and public organizations and institutions in Atlanta and the surrounding area.  She pairs the Institute’s expertise in technology with corporations, agencies, associations, school systems, other institutions, local communities and city government in order to maximize the effectiveness of outreach efforts. Specifically, she encourages faculty, staff and students to exhibit civic responsibility in local community outreach and K-12 enhancement. Previously she was Interim Associate Vice President and Director of Public Relations at Spelman College, Corporate Communications Manager at Yokogawa Corp. of America, Marketing Communications Manager at Ball Corp., and Editor of Robotics World Magazine.  She has been on the Advisory Board for the African American Student Union at Georgia Tech for three years and is on numerous boards and committees for local communities, Leadership Atlanta, the Metro Chamber of Commerce, the City of Atlanta and Atlanta Public Schools.

Dr. Steven Girardot is the Director of Georgia Tech’s Office of Success Programs.  Success Programs offers a variety of programs and services that promote student success at Tech. These include FASET, GT1000, and 1-to-1 tutoring.  In addition to serving as Director, he also teaches chemistry courses, primarily General Chemistry. Prior to joining Success Programs, he has held positions at CETL, the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, where he coordinated Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student programs and CEISMC, the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing- Tech’s K-12 outreach division- where he coordinated tutoring and mentoring programs that linked Tech students to local elementary schools.

Steven earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters degree in Chemistry- both from Georgia Tech.  He earned his doctorate in Chemistry and Environmental Health from Emory University and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. His doctoral research focused on air pollution and human health, and he worked on an EPA-funded epidemiologic study of adult hikers’ exposure to ozone and fine particulate matter in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 

His current research interests include teaching and learning in introductory STEM courses and factors which lead to student success in the first and second years of college.

This will be David's fifth year at Tech studying Mechanical Engineering. He has spent his past four summers working at a summer camp and enjoys playing games. David is also a team leader for GT-1000. He is overly excited about NSCS this year, and can't wait to meet the new members.

Chris is a fourth year computer science major from Mission Viejo, CA. He is specializing in the media and people threads hoping to work designing and building user interfaces. Chris is currently head TA for CS 2261 - Media Device Architecture. In his spare time he likes to play sports, video games, and watch movies.

Eric is a 3rd year Biomedical Engineering major. He grew up in Waleska, GA in Cherokee County. He enjoys doing anything active including but not limited to: swimming, running, biking, racquetball, tennis, ping pong, and many others. He also loves any sort of recreational game (cards, chess, puzzles, etc.) Harry Potter is (are) his favorite book(s), and his best rubik's cube solve is 36 seconds.

Jessie is a third year biochemistry major from Marietta, Georgia. Her campus involvement includes Honor Advisory Council, Omega Phi Alpha, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, GT Trailblazers, Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, Student Hospital Connection, and The Student Foundation Investments Committee. Her interests include modeling, salsa dancing, going to the theatre, hiking, volunteering, and traveling. She hopes to eventually attend medical school, volunteer on every continent (except Antarctica), and visit every country in Latin America.

Geoff is a fourth year mechanical engineering student and has been a member of NSCS since being inducted his freshmen year. Over the past couple of years, he has been involved in everything at Tech from Karate to Connect with Tech and this semester he is going to be playing on the GT Rugby Team! He has a real passion learning french and the french culture, in fact, this past semester he was fortumate enough to spend his summer at Georgia Tech Lorraine in beautiful Metz, France. He is really excited about this semester and what we will be able to accomplish with PACE!

Prateek is a Sophomore at Tech pursuing his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. He recently decided to change his major to Industrial Engineering as he feels he have the business acumen in him. He is a very outgoing person and loves to socialize with people. Therefore he is into many social activities on and off campus. He is also a very determined person and feels that nothing should be given up easily without trying hard enough. Due to his interest in the corporate sector, he wants to finally get into management with a MBA degree. In a span of 10 years from now, he sees himself at a good managerial post in an engineering firm. He is a die hard fan of cars and he has interned with Toyota. He is a very adventurous person and some of his other hobbies are trekking, rafting, rock climbing and mountain biking. Prateek is proud to hold this position and will put in all his efforts to make this program successful.

Allison is a third year Computational Media major. She is from Marietta, GA, and enjoys web design, classical music, shopping, watching movies, and chocolate. At Tech she is CS 1315 TA, a member of the Women @ CC, the Student Movement, and the Honors Program. After Tech, she hopes to do Web Design or Animation as a career.
