PACE Mentor Agreement

Purpose of PACE

  • Demonstrate to middle school students what it means and what it takes to go to college
  • Help students plan for post-secondary education
  • Help students see the link between college and career
  • Help students understand options for continuing education after high school

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Be in contact with your group of students at least once a week
  • Keep current on weekly labs through the website
  • Engage in the mentoring relationship with an open mind
  • Explore education and career options with your student
  • Notify chapter PACE coordinator as problems or concerns arise
  • Notify chapter PACE coordinator if you have to terminate the mentoring relationship early, for any reason

Confidentiality

  • Adhere to the confidentiality requirements set forth by the school/program

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Have a positive impact on someone else’s life
  • Learn new skills (and strengthen old ones)
  • Fulfill your commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service
  • Gain a new friend
