NSCS Leadership Programs
NSCS Leadership Programs offer a wide range of opportunities both to get involved and enhance your leadership skills:
The National Leadership Council
The National Leadership Council (NLC) is an elected group of NSCS members charged with representing the membership on the national level. NLC members hold individual positions, collectively serve as the voice of the membership, and work with the Board of Directors to set the policy and direction of the Society. Find out more about what the NLC does and how you can get involved, both as part of the Council and in Council-planned initiatives.
The NSCS Regional Conferences
The annual Regional Conferences take place simultaneously on six campuses across the country, one in each of the Society's six geographic regions. The conferences serve as a refresher for chapter officers at the start of the spring term as well as an additional opportunity both to brush up on leadership skills and interact with NSCS leaders from other chapters.
The NSCS Convention
The Convention is the Society's annual national conference held each July bringing together over 300 members of the NSCS community for a weekend of educational sessions, motivational speakers, networking, and professional and leadership development.
Chapter Leadership
As student-run organizations, all NSCS chapters have leadership positions on campus for which all NSCS members are eligible to run. Check out your current officers serving the Georgia Tech chapter of NSCS. Also, be aware that elections are held around March every year, so take a look at the positions available. There are also various committees that are dedicated to helping the officers run the organization more smoothly. NSCS counts on its student leadership, so be sure to take this great opportunity to get involved on the local level.
