Kaiser Kaiserani  - President, PSA @ Iowa State University says:

"PSA @ ISU is the representation of the norms and trends of Pakistan and the Pakistani people. We are a student organization providing opportunities to students of Pakistani origin of Iowa State University to explore their ethnic and cultural background and to promote better understanding of Pakistani people, their culture and values in an environment as diverse as America. For this, we hold many social, cultural, educational and athletic events throughout the year.

We have held a lot of concerts and functions recently. Junoon, Alamgir, Muni begum, Abrar are a just a few names. We also hold a BBQ for students and families at least once during a semester. We have also been conducting PSA sponsored tours to theme parks in the neighboring states. We plan to hold a couple of concerts in this coming semester."

PSA @ University of Michigan, Ann Arbor says:

Mahwish Hamlani - President, PSA @ Rensslelaer Polytechnic Institute says:

"Brief Intro:
Since 1988, PakSA, a Rensselaer Student Union funded cultural organization, has been presenting and promoting Pakistani culture to the RPI campus and catering to the needs of students with Pakistani heritage.

Some other Info:
* Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute: an science & engineering college located in Upstate NY
* We are different from most of the colleges represented here because this is actually the SIXTEENTH year that RPI Pakistani Student Association has been active.
* The PakSA was actually an idea thought by some students in 1983. However, due to lack of members it did not become an approved organization until 1988. Since then, RPI PakSA has held several educational and social activities for the students and community members and worked towards raising awareness of the Pakistani culture on RPI campus.
* Raising awareness to RPI campus: the raising of the Pakistani Flag on August 14th, participation in the International Night and Cultural Festival, and for a few years we even had our own newsletter
* Social activities for members: ski trips, cricket games, Annual Variety Show, Iftaris in Ramadan, and movie nights
* Educational activities: Film Festival (documentaries), speakers, combination of social and educational: Cultural Night social yet education presentation on Pakistan
- Community involvement: Variety Show, Chaand Raat Party (just for girls and women), Picnics, concerts (Muni Begum and Alamgir), and Speakers (Increase of Heart Diseases in South Asian community)
* RADIO SHOW: 2-hour Weekly radio show called 'Awaz-E-Pakistan¡' broadcasted on WRPI, over 500 Pakistani families and 1500 Indian families tune into the radio show.
* College students need to be positive role models for the youth in the Pakistani-American community; that even while growing up in United States of America, we have preserved our culture and are determined to raise awareness of the Pakistani culture on our campuses; encourages local youth to attend the universities that we represent; in the case of RPI, many children in the community have grown up in the past 15 years and seen an active Pakistani Student Association and have decided to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. They feel that a strong support network exists at RPI through the PSA."

Shabih Syed - President & Bilal Khwaja - Webmaster, PSA @ UT Austin say:

"The Pakistani Students Association at the University of Texas at Austin was formed on September 14, 1971. Over the last 25 years, PSA has been involved in a number of social and cultural events which include taking an active role in Prime Minister's Flood Relief Fundraising in 1973, Sitar Concert by Irshad Khan in 1990, Live performance by Alamgir in 1999 and Live World Cup Cricket viewing in 1996 and 1999. With the exception of some lost years from 1978-1980, every year has seen PSA organize various events ranging from sports tournaments, barbecue picnics, musical and culture shows, comedy plays, pool/bowling nights and even donations to non-profit organizations.

With the continued support of its members, we hope to continue this tradition of spreading cultural awareness here at UT into the new millenium. PSA recognizes its committees and wishes to thank all the active members who have made and carried PSA through for almost 30 years now."
