Update: 8-20-08
Our Meeting Time has changed: We now meet weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 in the Klaus 1st floor atrium.
The
Solar Jackets at the Georgia Institute of Technology is a newly formed
solar racing competition
club established to explore alternative energy designs. We are a
dynamic group of students and
faculty members with a diverse cultural and academic background.
In the
coming years, we plan to inspire and educate people with our commitment
to alternative energy
by
exploring creative uses for solar power. Our projects will promote
awareness of solar energy and
innovative engineering design. Not only do we plan to involve
students on our campus but, as
Georgia
Tech’s only alternative energy student organization, we also plan
to positively impact the
Atlanta
area by promoting awareness of solar energy.
We are currently
working on a Long Range Electric Vehicle to drive to the North American Solar
Challenge in Austin, TX.
