SoJam 2007 (Nov. 9-11)

SoJam 2007 (Nov. 9-11) The members of SympVibes, as well as members of Tech's Nothin' but Treble and Infinite Harmony, returned to Raleigh, North Carolina for the 2007 SoJam southeast a cappella festival. There was a collegiate competition on Friday night with 6 different groups: A Completely Different Note (University of Connecticut), All Night Yahtzee (Florida State University), Bluestones (James Madison University), No Southern Accent (University of Florida), Out of the Blue (Duke University), and the Sapphires (University of North Carolina Greensboro). Saturday night, there was a professional concert with 3 amazing groups: Fork (from Finland, pictured on the right), Duwende, and Naturally 7. The remaining part of the weekend was scheduled for classes, workshops and seminars. This annual event is an awesome treat for any a cappella group! (SoJam)

Thanks sororities for your support!

Thanks sororities for your support! Each semester, the sororities allow us to entertain them with a few of our new songs for various events. Before our final show each semester, we try to visit all of the sororities on campus to advertise for the concerts. Sometimes we even get treated to dinner (thanks Zeta Tau Alpha)! So far this semester we have sung for Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Gamma Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha, and we will try to visit the others. Thank you for all of your support!

Your SympVibes are now award-winning!

Your SympVibes are now award-winning! On November 11th, SympVibes competed at the 2005 SoJam Collegiate Competition, and took home first place. They competed against some of the best collegiate groups in the south including the Duke Pitchforks, UVA Hullabahoos, and UNCG Sapphires. As a result of their win, SympVibes had the privilege of opening for professional a cappella groups Cadence and Duwende at SoJam's Main Event on Saturday Night.

SoJam is a southern a cappella festival put on by the Alliance for A Cappella Initiatives. The weekend includes workshops and masterclasses to work on specific aspects of a cappella music. You can check out pictures from the weekend at Living Fiction Media.

Techtonic released

Techtonic released SympVibes is proud to announce our first studio CD, Techtonic! It includes music from the last two years of SympVibes concerts and was professionally mixed, mastered, and duplicated. It received a great review from the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (RARB), and all your friends most likely already have a copy! Proceeds from Techtonic go towards recording our next studio CD (already in progress).

Techtonic includes pop tunes such as Gavin DeGraw's I Don't Wanna Be, Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry, and Vertical Horizon's Everything You Want, as well as classic rock tunes Mama Told Me (Not to Come) by Three Dog Night, Paperback Writer by The Beatles, and James Taylor's Carolina in My Mind. It truly has something for everybody!

You can buy yourself a copy of Techtonic at our online store or at any of our concerts.
