When people visit Georgia Tech, it is common the hear
them ask, "Where are all the women?" Well
boys, you can find them out on the Burger Bowl, huckin' around a disk
or two and avoiding the wayward softballs.
Ultimate is similar to a lot of popular American sports such as football, soccer, and basketball. The game is played seven on seven on a generous sized field (120 yards long x 40 yards wide). Similar to a football kickoff, gameplay begins with both teams on their endzones, one throwing the frisbee to the other team on the other side of the field. Scoring is similar to a touchdown in football: a player must catch the frisbee thrown by a member of their team in their corresponding 25 yard endzone. Ultimate is self referee'd, meaning the players themselves are expected to call fouls and picks. This helps keep the game in good spirit, and rewards teams who win games on skill, not by cheating.
