The Georgia Tech Marine Robotics Group (MRG) was founded this past school year in order to build an underwater vehicle for competition in the 8th annual AUVSI and ONR International Underwater Vehicle Competition. While recruiting a diverse team of graduate and undergraduate students, we worked to fulfill the three main objectives for the submarine's abilities:
- rendezvous with with a docking station
- inspection of a pipeline to mark a break in the pipeline
- homing in on an acoustic beacon to surface within a marked zone
The competition August 3-7 at the TRANSDEC Facility in San Diego, CA will give us the opportunity to demonstrate our hard work.
