Join
W4AQL, the GTARC
Membership to the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio club is open to students,
faculty, staff, and alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology. As
well, membership is extended to Amateur Radio Operators not affiliated
with Tech in the Atlanta area. Annual dues are $24 for students, $33 for
non-students. When you become a member, you then receive access to the
various functions of our repeater, operating privileges in our shack,
and the opportunity to provide input to the future direction of W4AQL.
To join, simply come by one of our meetings on the second Monday
of every month school is in session and fill out a brief membership application.
We'll introduce you to the rest of the club, show you how to use the various
equipment in the shack, and answer any questions you may have. After one
semester you may obtain a key to the shack so that you may operate in between
classes or at night, when there wouldn't be anyone else in the shack.
Another benefit to membership is subscription to our e-mail list,
where announcements and other messages are posted. In the past, job offerings
have been sent to the list, as have items for sale, and 2 or 3 times a semester
a member of the club will let everyone know about a contest or event they
are working, providing you with the opportunity to see a new aspect of Amateur
Radio or continue to work on your awards. There are many benefits to joining,
so stop by one of our meetings, held on the second Monday of the month.
