Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues
The Vagina Monologues has been produced in thousands of colleges, universities, cities, towns and high schools since 1998, with unrivaled success. These events have been responsible for raising millions of dollars for local charities over the last 10 years. The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.

The Vagina Monologues at Georgia Tech is put on as a part of Women's Awareness Month, a month of student-organized programming that increases awareness about women's issues. WAM is advised by the Women's Resource Center of Georgia Tech. The Vagina Monologues was brought to campus in 2003, and it was an annual performance up till 2007. To increase the excitement on campus, The Vagina Monologues took a year off in 2008. But... it's back! The 2009 performance will be Georgia Tech's 6th production of The Vagina Monologues. The Vagina Monologues will continue being a biennial performance rather than an annual one.
