What's
the Yellow Jacket Flying Club All About?
The YJFC is a student
organization of Georgia Institute of Technology. We are made up
of students, faculty, staff, and former students of Georgia Tech.
Club qualified flight instructors are independant contractors
for their respective students and may or may not have a direct
affiliation to Tech. Unfortunately, if you cannot count yourself
as any of the above, or as an immediate household member of someone
who can, you cannot be considered for membership. Click
here for more details, and for information about some other
Atlanta area flight schools you might be interested in.

The part of the club
that most people are interested in are our aircraft. We own 4
single-engine airplanes: two 2-seat trainers (Cessna 152's), one
4-seat aircraft (Cessna 172), and one 4-seat complex aircraft
with retractable landing gear and a controllable pitch propeller
(Cessna 172RG). We own our airplanes, and we are not in business
to make a profit, so we can offer our airplanes to members of
the Georgia Tech community at prices that a normal business could
not match. These airplanes are available solely to YJFC members,
24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We have many flight
instructors that are associated with the club, several of which
are students, alumni or faculty members of Georgia Tech. We can
put you together with an airplane and a flight instructor and
get you started! While a large majority of the training that we
do is for people who join the club with little or no previous
flying experience, because of our range of aircraft, we have resources
available for instrument, commercial, and instructor ratings,
too.
