They asked me why I wanted to be,
A pledge of the Z Phi B Sorority,
Well, I looked around,
And searched my soul,
I'd rather wear the BLUE , than the red, pink, or gold.
You can say what you want, it's up to you....
But a real SORORITY wears
the WHITE AND THE BLUE

STRIVE

I am the finer woman
I am a lady of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority
I am the heart of a Sigma
The vital rib created from his side
If virtue and sisterly love is what you seek
Strive for perfection
STRIVE FOR Z-PHI-B

--Soror Felicia Kelly

In 1908 an " A K A" was created from the vines of beauty
                                         BUT...
Beauty was not enough and she could not make it through the storm

In 1913 a " DE LT A" was created from the violet of knowledge                                                                                                     BUT...
Knowledge was not enough to make it through the storm

Finally...
In 1920 a woman with the gift of beauty, knowledge, and strength was created.
Five pearls were placed around her neck and they called her a..." Z E T A!"

You’re all we need….Z-PHI

(Based off song: “Your All I need to get by” written by Ashford/Simpson originally performed by Gaye/Terell)

(Written and preformed by the Charter Ms. Communication line of Gamma Rho in the Spring of 2000)

Like sweet morning dew
We took one look at you
And it was plain to see
You were our Destiny

With you we'll Spend our time
And dedicate our lives
We'll sacrifice for you
Dedicate our lives to Blue

Noooo DST
They’re just too plain for me
Tis only Z Phi B
That can be
REALITY

Noooo I just can’t see
Why you want that Pink and Green
We need it more SUPREME
To represent that
ROYALTY

Your all
we need
in our lives

People often come up to me
And ask me
Why did I join the sorority
Of Z Phi B

When we are in the minority
I turn, smile and say
Well……

It is simply because
I look for….

….QUALITY not QUANITY
….CERTAINTY not INSECURITY
….CHARITY not VANITY
….CONSISTANCY not INSTABILITY
….UNITY not HYPOCRASY

So as you can see
There was NO other sorority
For me
Other than
Z
Phi
B

Thoughts of an Interest

(Written by: Ms. T-Eyed #7 Spr00)

For it was not the ladies of

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,

those so so pretty ladies of pink and green,
Through my quest I pondered with all the
        competition amongst
Sorors,
              true sisterhood could
they really mean?

Their noses high up in the air,
     Below
their noses,
I am wondering as a hard working sister
        do
they acknowledge me there.?

I have a very open mind and
after all I am trying to find sisterhood,
But if I am not an equal from the beginning,
        then
their sorority to me is NO good!!

Then it was the ladies of
      Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,
those strong ladies of crimson and creme,
when I asked their members questions,
exclusive to me they did seem.

Intelligently scholarship,
         sisterhood,
              and service did they choose,
but what did they thoughtlessly forget,
        the epitome
              of a finer womanhood,
without that their sorority to me is NO good.

Then I came across the ladies of
        Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.,
those ladies of Royal blue and pure white,
This sorority from the Beginning
            seemed just right.
 Not only to a family
        did they belong,
But nothing with the sorority
        could I find wrong.

Questions my research
         did inspire,
And any member I asked
     answered with desire.

Each member told me anything they could,
Something that I thought every sorority should.

But to me this
and other great things came with no surprise,
These were women of a finer entity
and with them I know I could continue to rise.

I made this decision of lifetime commitment carefully,
I too am a finer woman and
at the end of my quest it was clear to me,
my heart now lies with the principles
and the other fine women,

The women of
Z
Phi
B.
